How an AI text adventure works
In a classic text adventure you type what you do and the game tells you what happens. Here the game is written as you play: an AI narrator describes the scene, stops when you have to decide, and plays out whatever you type, so you can try anything, not only what the designer thought of.
Every turn ends with three choices for when you do not know what to type. The narrator keeps track of what happened, so people, items and promises from earlier turns stay as they were.
How to play
- Pick a world. Ten worlds, from fantasy and sci-fi to cyberpunk, pirates and the Old West.
- Choose who you are. A hero, a rogue, a detective, a survivor, a captain or a mage.
- Start, then act. Type what you do, or tap a choice into the box, and press Do it.
- Set the rules. Under More options, pick the tone, how hard it is and how long each turn should be.
