Who to play in a villainess roleplay

The classic otome isekai roleplay start is waking up inside a romance game as the lady fated to lose. You know every route, down to the night the prince denounces you, and the fun is using it before anyone notices you've changed.

• The villainess herself. She's proud, sharp-tongued and short on time. Decide early whether she remembers the game or is working it out as she goes.
• The heroine. Play the commoner everyone adores, and watch the lady who used to torment you become suspiciously kind.
• The loyal maid or butler. Nobody notices the servant, which means you hear everything. Your mistress is about to ruin herself, and only you can stop it.
• The fiancé or the rival duke. Play the prince who is sure he's right, or the cold northern duke who takes in the exiled lady and wants the real story.

Villainess roleplay scenarios

In each of these, one reply changes the route. Drop one into your first message, or roll a fresh twist with the plot generator.

• The denouncement. The prince is halfway through his speech breaking your engagement in front of the whole ballroom. You get one answer before the guards step in.
• One year early. You wake on your eighteenth birthday with every route in your head and twelve months before the bad ending. Your first move is the guest list for your own party.
• The spilled tea. At the garden party, the heroine spills tea across your gown. The whole terrace goes quiet to see how cruel you'll be.
• The forged letter. A love letter in your handwriting, addressed to the prince's knight, is going around the academy. You have until dinner to find who forged it.
• The exile carriage. You're bound for exile at the northern border. The duke waiting at the gate has heard every rumour and believes almost none of them.
• The poisoned cup. Someone tried to poison the heroine at the royal banquet, and the cup came from your tray. The court has already decided, so you need proof before morning.

A story with the whole court

How to keep court intrigue going

Court stories stall when nobody wants anything. Give every scene a secret and a deadline, and the AI has something to work with. How to start a roleplay covers first messages that set this up in a few lines.

• Keep a court calendar. Pin the ball or the hunting festival to a date, and every scene before it starts to count.
• Track your doom flags. List the moments that lead to your bad ending and break them one by one. Tell the narrator when you've dodged one so it raises a new threat.
• Make allies cost something. The duke helps, but he wants a favour later. The maid keeps your secret, but she has one of her own.
• Let rumours outrun you. Gossip should reach each room before you do, so ask who's whispering whenever you walk in.
• Skip ahead in your own words. In a regular chat, write the jump yourself: "Three days later, at the hunting festival." In a story, the Director note does it.
