What is an OTP prompt?
An OTP, one true pairing, is the couple you ship most. An OTP prompt is a small moment for them, a situation to write or draw: who is there, what just happened and what one of them is about to say. Fandom has traded them on Tumblr for years, and a lot of fics on AO3 start as a prompt fill.
Most OTP generators shuffle a fixed list of sentences. This one writes new prompts every time for your two characters, the mood, the AU and the tropes you pick.
How to use the OTP prompt generator
- Name your OTP. Two names, canon or OC. Leave them blank and the prompts use Person A and Person B.
- Pick the mood. Fluff, angst, hurt and comfort, humor, or a mix.
- Choose an AU and tropes. Coffee shop, royalty, soulmate or space, and up to three tropes like slow burn or fake dating.
