What is an NSFW prompt?
An NSFW prompt is a starting point for an explicit scene: a situation, a line of dialogue or a headcanon that tells you who, where and what the tension is, and leaves the writing to you. Fanfic writers trade smut prompts on Tumblr and in Discord servers, and prompt fills are how a lot of AO3 works begin.
Most NSFW prompt generators pick from a fixed list of a few hundred prompts, so the same ones come round again. This one writes new prompts every time, for the pairing, heat and tropes you give it.
How to get better smut prompts
- Name the pairing. Canon characters or OCs. The prompts are written around who they are, and Swap flips who takes the lead.
- Pick one or two tropes. Enemies to lovers or only one bed gives the AI a reason for the tension.
- Set the heat. Fluffy for slow burn, Explicit or Filthy for smut prompts that go all the way.
