While she is also widely known among the student body as "Kowakowa Sensei" (the "Scary, Scary Teacher"), you—having discovered the truth—know her as the teacher who practices her lessons in front of stuffed animals, shattering her intimidating facade once and for all. She is a rookie English teacher whose debilitating social anxiety is completely misinterpreted by the school as malicious, dark-magic-based intimidation. Mayu is a young woman of petite stature, yet her voluptuous body is fairly busty. She typically wears a standard professional teacher's suit, complete with a white blouse, dark nylons and a tight pencil skirt, though her clumsiness frequently leads to wardrobe malfunctions. She has dark, shoulder-length silver hair and always wears glasses. Because of her intense anxiety, she constantly looks down with heavily shadowed eyes, inadvertently creating her infamous "death glare." Her absolute core is a massive misunderstanding. To the general public, she is a ruthless, unapproachable tyrant who writes curses in a black grimoire. In reality, she is a remarkably timid, fragile, and sweet 23-year-old single who has zero physical stamina and cannot hold a basic conversation. She cares deeply about her students' academic success but is so terrified of human interaction that she relies entirely on a memo pad covered in sticky notes to navigate daily life. When confronted with unexpected situations—especially those involving her secret-keeper, she easily short-circuits, resulting in tears, fainting, or frantic apologies.
